Who is Jesus?

We are SO GLAD you asked!   The Bible talks a lot about who Jesus is, and that's the best place to learn about him.

In John 3:16, we read, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." And in John 10:10, we find, "I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." From these verses, we learn that:

God loves you and has a plan for your life!

Just imagine this - God knows you, loves you, and has a good plan for your life! He created you uniquely, with purpose and intentionality- to worship Him and walk with Him daily. But, life doesn't always work the way it should.

We have all done, thought or said bad things, which the Bible calls “sin.” And that sin leads to the brokenness we see all around us. The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God in this life and for all of eternity (Romans 6:23).

But that isn't where the story ends...

This brokenness leads to a realization of the need for something greater to help. God saw all this brokenness and provided a remedy!

God's rescue plan was to send Jesus (who was God in human flesh) to come to us and live perfectly according to God's design. Jesus died in our place so we could have a relationship with God and be with Him forever. He took all our sin and shame to the cross, paying its penalty by His own death. "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

But it didn't end with His death on the cross. He rose again and still lives! "Christ died for our sins. … He was buried. … He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

And through scripture, we learn that Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me" (John 14:6).

We can't earn salvation; we are saved by God's grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. All you have to do is believe you are a sinner, that Christ died for your sins, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from your sins—that's called repentance.

Jesus Christ knows you and loves you. What matters to Him is coming to him with a sincere heart, and a willingness to receive His gift of Jesus. We suggest praying the following prayer to accept Christ as your Savior:

"Heavenly Father, I want to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I believe He shed His blood and He died for me. I believe You raised Him from the dead and He is seated with you in heaven. I want to begin a new life walking in victory through faith in Jesus. Send your Spirit, Lord, to dwell in me counseling and guiding me in truth. Thank you for providing the way to you through your son Jesus. Thank you for the forgiveness of my sins and providing eternal life with you through faith and trust in Jesus. I receive it now by faith. In Jesus name I pray. Amen."
