Lizz's Ugly Bakery: A Patriotic Trifle

Posted on May 26, 2022 by Lizz Ryals

With the unofficial kickoff of Summer happening this weekend there will be lots of grilling, picnicing and all types of get togethers happening! If you're asked to bring a dessert this could be a great idea for you!

This Patriotic Trifle is pretty simple, it's just a few easy homemade (or store bought...ain't nobody judging!) ingredients that are layered up and completely delicious!

I kind of made my recipe from a couple of different recipes, because I didn't fully like any of the truffle recipes I found.

I used a light poundcake for the cake element, I DID use a boxed pudding mix, but I made a homemade whipped cream and tons of gorgeous berries like strawberries, raspberries and blackberries (Ninja didn't think she could eat them because of the seeds....WHAT????)!

Here is the poundcake recipe I used: Poundcake Recipe

I LOVE this recipe for homemade whipped cream! It's only 3 ingredients and takes about 5 minutes. My tip is, you don't HAVE to refrigerate your bowl. I NEVER do! Homemade Whipped Cream

This is a recipe that can be totally customized by you! If you like banana pudding, use that flavor and pair the fruit you add to match your pudding.
