How to Avoid ‘Maskne’ From Wearing Face Masks.

Wearing masks during the coronavirus pandemic has led to a new skincare problem: "maskne" (mask acne). Here are some tips for protecting your skin when it’s constantly exposed to heat, sweat and pressure from your mask.

  • Apply a balm or moisturizer that can create a barrier, Look for ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil and cocoa butter to shield your skin.

  • Wear a clean mask whenever possible, Wash your masks or spray the inside with alcohol after each use and let it dry before wearing it again.
  • Wash your face as soon as you're home and apply a moisturizer right after, Use a gentle cleanser, like milk or oil, and scent-free moisturizer if you'd like to avoid irritant.
