Lizz's Ugly Bakery - Creme Brûlée

Posted on Jun 04, 2020 by Rob Dempsey

If you have eggs and heavy or whipping Creme, you could probably whip up some Creme Brûlée right now!

With this recipe, you’ll need 5 eggs, 3 cups of heavy cream, salt, vanilla and sugar. I DID buy a kitchen torch just because it’s sounded fun, but you can brûlée your dessert in the oven.

A couple of things I like about this dessert is that it’s relatively easy AND you can make it up to 2 days ahead, so if you know you have people coming over (after social distancing, of course), go ahead and get the dessert ready!

Tempering the eggs is SUPER important! Once you heat the cream, make sure you pour it into the egg mixture slowly WHILE you whisk. If you don’t, you’ll end up with sweet scrambled eggs. Yuck!

The ONLY thing I would tweak to this recipe is to add a tic more sugar to the actual mixture...I mean not much at all, just possibly a couple teaspoons more. Enjoy the bake!
