Juicing is a great way to squeeze out vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals from fruits and vegetables. And because you're consuming it in a liquid form it's easier for your body to absorb all that goodness! While you may never be able to eat an entire package of celery, you could easily drink it each morning!
HIS Morning Crew's Jim Mann is fighting Stage 4 Melanoma and part of his health journey includes juicing. This week he'll be sharing some of his favorite juicing recipes! There's also a chance to win your own Champion Classic 2000 Juicer, a prize valued at $340!
First up, a yummy juice recipe called Tropi-Kale. It only has three ingredients: bananas, pineapple and kale. Here are the benefits of juicing each of these ingredients:
Contains fiber which leads to better digestion. Also bananas are great at regulating stress because they are rich in tryptophan. Banana juice is fulll of vitamins such as B3, B5, B6 and vitamin C. Bananas can boost memory power and their antioxidents help produce more free radicals.
Some studies show pineapples do a great job of suppressing the growth of cancer cells. They also contain Vitamin C and beta-carotene which helps skin damage. Studies also show it can help regulate blood pressure.
Kale is one of the healthiest foods on the planet. A single cup of kale contains more than 100% of your daily Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Vitamin A. IT's an excellent way to lower cholesterol. It can also fight cancer at the molecular level because of compounds like sulforaphane.
