The faith-based film releases Friday, March 16 and stars Dennis Quaid, Cloris Leachman, Trace Adkins and Broadway's J. Michael Finley. Directed by Jon and Andrew Erwin, the film is based on the true story behind the hit song I Can Only Imagine.

As a boy, Bart Millard was abused emotionally and physically by his father. He left home to start his band MercyMe, but eventually returned home after receiving disappointing news from the music industry. His return home was an answered prayer for his father, who dreamed of reconciling with his son. It's a beautiful story of redemption, faith and love that led to Bart writing the now famous song, I Can Only Imagine.
I Can Only Imagine is now the most-played radio single in Christian music history. It won 'Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year' at the Dove Awards in 2002. That same year Bart Millard earned 'Songwriter of the Year.' The song has been downloaded more than two million tiimes, the only Christian single to hit that milestone.
