Act of Love at Ace Hardware!

Posted on Jun 08, 2018 by Erica Parkerson

An elderly gentleman went to Ace Hardware on a sad mission. See, he needed to buy a shovel to bury his dog, who he'd loved for 15 years.

It was definitely a God thing that he was assisted by Sam Coleman-Dancer.  The 19 year old simply listened to his story.

Sam says, "He told me about the times they spent together, walking and playing fetch. He said his dog had always been there for him. He was very emotional, and it touched me."

The gentleman also mentioned that he just got news he's battling cancer.

Sam promised to come and help him bury his beloved dog and friend later that day.  The grieving man's eye got real big, as if hope was dawning in his heart.

Same kept his word and went to the grateful man's house directly after work. Together, they accomplished the goal.  "Something he said stuck with me," Sam says. "He told me that great things come to you at unexpected times and we both smiled."

When asked how he could ever repay him, Sam said he simply wanted a picture with his new friend.
