Teen rushes to help Grandma with Alzheimer's!

Posted on May 10, 2018 by Erica Parkerson

"My name is Jennifer. I take care of my mom. She has Alzheimer's. She sort of fainted on me today and slowly slumped to the floor. I was alone. I called my teenage son, at school, and he rushed home to help me get her up and safely in a chair. Then he ran to Walmart and got some medicine and electrolytes for her. I knew at that moment, I had done SOMETHING right with him!! God is so good!

John just turned 18 last month. He's a new Christian and has had to truly become the man of the house, as my husband is out of town for an extended time. He has stepped up to the plate.

He works after school at Chick-fil-A in Roanoke Rapids. He's an active member of the Youth Program at Valley Community Church in Weldon and has recently helped lead his girlfriend to Christ.

His heart is as big as his smile, as is his personality and sense of humor. I couldn't be prouder of him than I was today. He is my heart."
