Iron Academy: the Triangle's all-male middle/high school for the gentleman scholar.
- Biblical manhood: building biblically-driven, Christian young men
- Superb academics that engage young men
- Training effective leaders primed for action
The mission of Iron Academy is to ally with parents to shape Christian boys into exceptionally educated and biblically-grounded young men who are maximally developed for a life of leadership, self-discipline, and service. Biblical manhood is never an accident and this core belief is reflected in the name of the school, which was inspired by Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
Iron Academy is different from day one. The first week for a student at Iron Academy is spent high in the North Carolina mountains focused on making the honor code a way of life, not just words on paper. Passivity and confusion about what it means to be a man are not compatible with the Iron Academy Honor Code – “I will always conduct myself as a gentleman, live pure, speak true, right wrong, and follow the King.”
Iron Academy students’ physical development will always be a priority. Every student will participate in a daily Physical Education class. Each class period will have a mid-point break for 5 to 7 minutes of physical activity to energize brain function. Our parents have been amazed at the positive physical transformations of their son’s physical fitness. As a result of the persistent development of physical activity and healthy food choices for school lunch, Iron Academy students will be an excellent example for the entire Triangle area.
We currently have sports teams in soccer and basketball and have club activities in riflery, mountain biking, golf, and lacrosse. As our enrollment grows, we plan to broaden our offerings of sports teams.
Our young men are pursuing a higher standard than their peers outside Iron Academy. This is how we ally with parents to build disciples of Christ and scholars. This is Iron Academy.
