About Courtney Starr

It’s so wonderful to be with you on the radio. My name is Courtney Starr, and I’m originally from Marion, North Carolina. Radio has allowed me to do a little traveling. God placed me in Augusta, GA for a few years on-air, and then it was off to Charleston, SC where I met and married my best friend Jeremy. We have one daughter named Skylar Rose who was born in March of 2019. It’s such a joy to watch her learn, and play. One of our favorite things to do together is dance! She loves to dance, and doesn’t even need music to bust a move.

In my spare time, I do enjoy baking homemade cookies, and decorating them with royal icing. Oh, they are so good with a little orange zest in the dough. Of course, with all of those cookies, I have to be pretty physically active, lol. I love to run. One of these days I’d like to tackle a half marathon. My husband and I also love to go hiking, and fishing. If there’s any chance to get outside we are up for it.

My walk with the Lord started when I was a child. We had a children’s picture Bible when I was little, and my parents would let us pick a story before bedtime. One of my favorites, and I think I picked it out every time, was the story of Jonah and the whale. I loved looking at those pictures, that whale was huge! The Bible really sparked my curiosity in God, and faith. I’ll never forget the day I felt Jesus speak to me. I was at Vacation Bible School and the pastor was teaching us about who Jesus was, and His great sacrifice that set us all free. My heart started to race. I knew then and there God was knocking on the door of my heart saying, “I’m here Courtney, and I’m going to change your world.” Shortly after VBS, I was saved and baptized. I’ll never forget it.

Now, at 36-years-old, God has called me once again back in radio. In fact, this is my first time working in Christian radio. How sweet it is to be doing what you love, and serving the One you love each day. I look forward to spending time with you, sharing with you, and praying with you.
