About Christie Loman

I graduated from the University of South Carolina with an Accounting Degree in 1989 and have built a wonderful career in the Accounting industry.  Working for HIS Radio since March 2011 has definitely been the highlight of my career! But, HIS Radio was special to me long before I began working here. I have been a faithful listener for many years. I can recall wonderful memories of listening to Gary Miller years ago during the “Lunch-Time Express” and being encouraged by just the right song at just the right time. I listened to Rob Dempsey in the mornings as I drove my small children to school and was so inspired by his testimony. Hearing the prayers of Allen Henderson during Sharathon and Friendraiser, led me to become a financial supporter of the radio station. And now I am truly blessed to work alongside these wonderful people, and many others, at HIS Radio. More importantly, they have become my extended family.

I was born and raised in Greenville, SC with parents who taught me the importance of having a personal relationship with God. I have fond memories of my Baptist upbringing, of attending church every Sunday and memorizing lots of scripture in Sunday school. I may not have understood the power of those scriptures in my daily life as a child, but God’s word has helped me through some tough times in my life as an adult. And as I learned to lean on those precious, living words in the Bible, they gave me a hope I’d never had before and left me yearning to know more about God and what His word says.

My mom’s bible was full of notes she’d written next to scriptures all throughout the margins in her bible. When she passed away, I got her bible and use it to this day. Sometimes, as I am studying scripture, one of her notes will give me an insight into her understanding of it, and it is like a precious gift to me.  So, I started adding my own notes in the margins for my children to read some day. My Grandmothers were also very important Christian role models for me growing up. They both taught me the power of prayer in difficult times as well as the importance of thanking God for those trials because that’s when I learn the most from Him. I also keep a prayer journal and I write scriptures of God’s promises next to my prayers. When I look back, I can see how God has worked in every situation, even if He doesn’t answer my prayers as quickly as I would like or in the way that I would want Him to. God’s abundant grace sustains me through it all!

I’ve tried to raise my two children with a hunger for God’s word and a desire to know Him. They are really my greatest achievements in life! My daughter asked Jesus into her heart and was baptized at the age of 10. She is now happily married and attends church regularly with her husband. My son went away to college and asked Jesus into his heart , was baptized, and is now happlily married and serving the Lord with his wife. For this I am very grateful, because, above all else, I want to see them again one day in heaven.

One of my favorite verses is John 15:5, 7-8:

I am the vine; you are the branches.  If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.  This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

And in the end, that is my hope for myself and my children….. That we go out into this world and show ourselves to be His disciples.

I’m a BIG believer in Prayer. I keep a Prayer Journal and I write scriptures of God’s promises next to my prayers so that His words will remain in me. When I look back I can see how God is working in my life and in the lives of others (even if He doesn’t answer my prayers as quickly or in the way that I would like Him to.) God’s abundant grace sustains me through it all!
