Denise Jeter-George I. Theisen YMCARob is such an inspiration! I look at his before and after picture and just dream of the day when I can look at my own after picture and be so proud to say that I finally did it. I work as a medical transcriptionist and have for the past 11 years. So, I sit at my computer all day every day in my home by myself. Not a lot of socializing goes on between me and the doctors seeing as they can't hear me when I talk back to them. I am very inactive although I do have a treadmill in my home that I vowed to use and I will get on it every now and then but not nearly as much as I should.

I have a fabulous and supportive husband. We had our 20 year anniversary this past July (2009). We have three kids, 19, 13, and 10. We have had our share of trouble with our oldest and she is currently living back with us after having been out of the home for six months or so. God helps us so much through this situation. We are hoping for her complete turn around. "Nothing is impossible with God."

We have been through the classes at DSS to possibly adopt, but with the current situation with our oldest we have put it on hold. I do have type II diabetes and I weigh in around 280. I know I can completely eliminate diabetes if I lose enough weight. So, I am starting the journey to a healthier me.

I do want to see what God is going to do with and through my kids. I teach 1st-3rd grade Sunday school at my church and children's church. What a great testimony to be able to show my kids (at home and at church) that God is in control and that he can do miracles through the lives of his children.

This March I turn the big 4-0. I so want to be well on my way to a healthier me by then. Please help!! Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate all that you do and for your inspiration.

2/6/10

Well, no weight loss for me at all this week... week 2. I'm not giving up. It just hasn't been a great week. I've had so much work that I haven't been able to do hardly anything else. My grandmother has also been in the hospital and I spent two nights this past week at the hospital with her. She has double pneumonia, but is starting to improve so praise the Lord. Next week is going to be better!!

Hey Rob! It is really nice to know that you are there for support. Thank you so much. Well, I did go in and weigh this morning and I have lost 5 pounds (well- 4.8 to be exact). I was glad to see a loss. I don't really have a set schedule of when I'm going to the Y. Some days I go with Becky and some days with my family. It depends on the day. Tuesday evenings are probably a for sure time. I have had a very stressful week (actually the past four days). It's no secret that Satan knows exactly how and when to attack, but what an amazing God we serve. With his help and lots of prayers this situation will be a victory for God.

One more thing..... I actually resisted buying a Reese's peanut butter egg the other day at the store. I walked right by.

Praise be to God for his mercy and grace. I know I can make it on this journey.
