Becky Sundeen-George I. Theisen YMCAI just turned 34 yesterday...hard to believe! I am a mother of 5 children all 11 and under. My husband and I had a long journey with God before we were blessed with them, though! I had my first child biologically at 23- was healthy and happy. After that- I lost 5 babies- delivering one stillborn, the rest through miscarriage. We decided that we were done trying, and we chose to become foster parents.

After many children of whom came and went, we were called to take on a sibling group of twin 3 year olds and the 2 year old brother. It was love at first sight- and 8 years later-- we have 5. I know what you are thinking- that is only 4. Well, God in his sense of humor, then blessed up with one more biological baby. Through that pregnancy, I gained way too much weight, but I was on bedrest from 12 weeks on! She was born 6 weeks early... I had to have an emergency hysterectomy after he r delivery. It was just rough.

Well, when she turned one, I went in to the doctor for a knot I was feeling in my neck- and found out I had cancer. I went through a few more surgies, cancer treatments, and am now doing well. Unfortunately- through all of that- the one thing that has been neglected is my weight! I am now larger than I have ever been- but I feel like right now is the best time to change that!

I am no longer fighting other health issues and can focus on myself and weight instead of myself and every other problem! I told my husband that I would love to be able to say that my 30's were my healthy years...goodness knows, my 20's were racked with health issues!

I am ready for change, I just need some direction and help to get there!

2/8/10

Hey Rob- just thought I would share my good news. I know I shouldn't measure but once every 4 weeks, but today I really jhust wanted to see how I was doing. My trainer measured me, and in 2 weeks I lost 3 inches in my chest and 1 inch in my waist! Partner that with 10 pounds and I was thrilled!!! :)

2/6/10

what a week I have had at the gym!  I have kicked myself in the tail everyday- and I am loving it!!!  I have gotten a friend from my neighborhood to join with me, and we are strength training everyday- and doing about 40 min of cardio.  It feels so good! :)  My biggest frustration right now is figuring out my food.  I wish I could figure out what my caloric intake should be- and how they should be broken up.  It seems like every website says something different!  I am trying, though.

This week I lost 4 pounds- 9 pounds all together.  For 2 weeks- not bad! :)
